'Collected and Boxed' [200 x 300 cms] Gwen Hedley
This work is a collection of flotsam and jetsam, found on the shores of Dungeness. The box contains all manner of worn materials, including pieces of old iron, so rusted and eroded that they no longer resemble their original forms. The box sits on a handstitched, painted and pieced cloth, reflecting the weathered environment in which they were found.
